So lately...

this is what's been happening.

Our washing machine broke again. This time I didn't shove a queen sized blanket inside. It just stopped spinning during a load of towels. Apparently our washing machine wasn't fixed very well a couple of months ago. Sadness. We have two options: 1. fix it or 2. buy a new one. We haven't decided which one we'll do yet.

I've decided to get a job...I think. I'm getting a little stir-crazy in the house. I'm not quite established yet in this new place, so I think a job would be a good thing. (Although I'm a bit hesitant to give up my freedom) I'm planning (or maybe I should say hoping) to get a job in a photography studio of some sort. I would like to gain more experience to become a better photographer. I started calling up photography studios the other day to find a job. I had a couple of bites and they asked to see my portfolio. So I've been putting one together. And speaking of which, I have now sold 13 photographs on iStockphoto! Woo Hoo! I'm so pleased.

Today I went walking for exercise. It was 19 degrees outside. I was so cold...even though I dressed warm. I should have dressed warmer. Dang it! It's SOO cold out here this year. I'm totally freezing this year. This morning I went outside to feed the dog and found his water dish completely frozen. Solid brick of ice. So I dumped it out and filled it with hot water. That froze too. It's cold out here. I think I prefer my cold weather to be about 40. That works.

I know I said I would never let the dog in the house again, but I had a slight change of heart, considering our recent frigid weather. Brody is now allowed in the kitchen under close supervision. He's a lot more timid in the house these days too. And more obedient. That's nice.

Here's the view from the window of our front room. No joke!!

I should put up a picture of our house too. I'll do that soon.

Michelle - That picture of the Sandia's is fantastic. Crop out the vacant lot and sell it! Also, Kim Jew's is my favorite photograph studio in Albq. - check it out. Good luck on your job search - have you considered doing dome free lance work for the New Mexico Magazine or other regional publications? I think you would be great at it.

it's funny that you mentioned both of those things, because Kim Jew was a studio that I was considering applying for...and I just might do that. I've also been considering free lance work...I just can't decide which area to focus on!!
